Welcome to the Montgomery Section of the Royal Rangers. The Montgomery Section includes outpost in cities throughout central Alabama. This website has been designed to help keep you up to date on upcoming events and to provide you with resources to help you with your mission to help "reach, teach and keep boys for Christ."

Urgent Prayer Request

Please keep Joe Andrews and his family in your prayer. Minnie Lou Andrews, the mother of Joe Andrews, passed away on July 12, 2010. The Montgomery Sectional is asking everyone to please keep the Andrews family in your prayers.

Black Powder Class

The district is holding a black powder class on August 21, 2010 at Camp Lone Eagle. The cost is $20.00 and this includes books, testes, powder, etc. The class starts at 8:00am and should be over by 3pm or 4pm.

Bring a lunch and extra drinks for the rifle range because it will be very hot.

The First 15 or so to contact Robert "Muskrat" Rice will be assured or a spot in this class. Bring a black powder rifle if you have one but it is not necessary to have a rifle to take this class and shoot.
This is an NRA certified class and qualifies you for the black powder merit (your outpost supplies the path). If we have too many wanting this class they will schedule another class in September.

2010 Pinewood Derby

We would like to say thank you to everyone that came out and supported this Pinewood Derby Race. Fun was had bay all and there were some really fast cars this year. Thank you to all the family and friends that helped the boys this year. These races would not happen without your help. A special thank you to the Sectional Staff and their helpers that made the race possible.

Upcoming Training:

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT LMA TRAINING:

The district is implementing a new policy concerning the completion of the LMA. The applicant will have one year to complete their LMA, if the LMA is not completed in one year then the person will have to start over. The cost being inferred at the beginning for the whole course is a cost of $125.00. The National office will soon implement this same policy in the near future to all districts. Joe will do all he can to help those who wish to complete their LMA. The ones that have already began their training will have til the spring of 2008 to complete their training. Please contact Joe and he will make arrangements to have the training you need to complete your LMA.

Sectional Commanders Conference

Mark your calendars for the next Sectional Commanders Conference. We really need someone from each outpost represented at the meetings. These meetings are where we decide on issues, dates and location of events. If you don't have a representative present then your outpost will not have any say it what goes on in the section. So it is important that your outpost is represented. You need to be there so we know what you want to do with YOUR section!

Royal Rangers Groups

Royal Rangers are designed for boys and is broke up into four groups. The groups are broken up according to the grades of the boys.

Ranger Kids - Kindergarten thru 2nd grade

Discovery Rangers - 3rd grade thru 5th grade

Adventure Rangers - 6th grade thru 8th grade

Expedition Rangers - 9th grade thru 12th grade
